The entrepreneur donates to organizations and needy people through Custom Cares Charities, an arm of his company. He is attached to veterans, having served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve after clearing his high school. He donates to organizations that support those that have been in the military. He also takes the initiative of employing them at his company after they return to civilian life.

Mandera coaches and sponsors youth Sports teams and he passionately supports the Jesse White Tumblers. He contributes to institutions that fund research and treatment of muscular dystrophy, cancer, and multiple sclerosis. Through the Custom Companies Inc., he transported food supplies and other items to people in Washington after the 2013 Tornadoes. The company’s trucks transported supplies to Mississippi and Louisiana after the hurricane Katrina.

The ambitious philanthropist founded the Custom Companies Inc. in 1986. He has overseen the growth of the company as he is involved in every aspect of the company. His eminence in business growth and leadership was recognized in 2000 when he was named by the ITA as one of the Top 100 American Transportation Executives of the Millennium. He is a board member of ITA (Illinois Trucking Association). The blogger was the youngest ever to have been elected to serve in Republican Ward Committeeman when he served in the 26th Ward in Chicago for four years.
